Tore Bobe may have not won on Saturday but their fans backed them massively yet again, raking in more money for the club

Shabana FC may have not won a game so far in the FKF Premier League but their fans keep backing them massively going by the amount of money the club raised during Saturday’s clash against Kenya Police at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay.

Tore Bobe sold 3,135 tickets on Saturday which earned the club a total Ksh413,500, being Ksh150,000 collected from 500 VIP tickets and Ksh263,500 from 2,635 who snapped up the regular ones.

The club could have raised much more were it not for some chaos at the entrance where a number of fans forced their way into the stadium.

“We had a challenge at the gates and most fans forced free entry at some point, we picked lessons and going forward we promise to maximise on revenue while taking into consideration fans safety,” the club said while revealing what they made on Saturday.

“Asante sana (thank you very much) for all those who made it to Raila Odinga Stadium, Homa Bay for our match. It was great seeing the stadium painted red and white. Looking forward to more of that from our wonderful fans.”

The amount is, however, nearly Ksh200,000 less than what the club collected on matchday one when they lost 1-0 to Murang’a Seal at the same venue. Shabana sold 4,363 tickets, bringing in Ksh600,500 at the time.

Shabana charge Ksh300 for VIP while the regular tickets go for Ksh100 which has created huge interest among fans despite playing away from their Gusii Stadium turf.

Given the huge backing they are receiving from their fans, Sammy Okoth’s men will need to start posting positive results soon as they have recorded back-to-back 1-1 draws against FC Talanta and Kenya Police since losing to Murang’a.
