Shabana FC addresses poor performance, prepares to announce a new head coach, and vows to strengthen the squad in a bid for improvement.

Shabana FC has issued a resolute statement addressing their recent struggles as they set a deadline for naming a head coach to replace the departed Sammy Okoth.

Tore Bobe, who fell 2-0 to Kakamega Homeboyz at Bukhungu Stadium, are determined to rectify their current 15th position and restore their former glory in the league.

Club secretary general, Elizaphan Kerama, acknowledged the concerns surrounding the team's underwhelming performance and emphasized the urgency of turning things around.

"Out of the 14 matches played, only two victories have been secured, signaling a need for immediate improvement," Kerama stated.

To address these pressing issues, Shabana is taking a series of decisive actions, with the first being the appointment of a new senior coach.

"We have finalized the process of appointing the senior coach, who will be named within this week to fill the vacancy left by Sammy Okoth. Kambona and Arika will support and deputize this appointee," Kerama announced.

Sammy Okoth, who led Shabana to Premier League promotion after 17 years in the lower divisions, had a challenging start to his tenure in the top flight, managing only one win in 10 matches, drawing four and losing five.

Following his departure, the club appointed his assistant, Oscar Kambona, in an interim capacity, and now seasoned coach Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo is set to take the helm as the new head coach of Shabana FC.

"As we approach the upcoming transfer window, only individuals demonstrating strong commitment and competence will be retained. We aim to undergo a significant strengthening process within the team," Kerama noted, signaling a clear intent to bolster the squad.

Another critical issue addressed by the administrator pertains to the club's temporary home.

Shabana relocated to the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay while the Gusii Stadium undergoes renovation.

The sorry state of some of its features, including the playing surface, deemed it unsuitable to host FKFPL matches.

"A meeting has been scheduled with the team's Patron, Governor of Kisii County, and the stadium contractor to ascertain the exact status of the stadium and expedite necessary measures to prepare it for our home matches within the shortest time possible," Kerama explained.

Kerama affirmed the club's unwavering commitment to rectifying their current standing and restoring the team's former glory.

"This period marks a crucial opportunity for us to realign and progress in the right direction," he concluded.

Shabana FC has struggled this season, recording five draws and seven defeats in their 14 games played.

Currently, they find themselves in the 16th position with just 11 points and have won only two matches.
