The club legend has responded to reports that he has written to Leopards demanding up to Ksh9 million in pending dues

Former AFC Leopards coach Tom Juma has confirmed that the club has yet to settle his dues following his dismissal last month.

Juma left Ingwe in October after the club’s poor start to the season, having just signed a two-year deal, as replacement for Belgian tactician Patrick Aussems who quit in July.

The club legend received his marching orders after just six games in charge before Czech national Tomas Trucha was installed as his replacement and there have been reports that he has written to Leopards demanding up to Ksh9 million in pending dues.

“I have not talked to anyone about that, but of course those are things that are there but should be resolved in a batter way,” Juma said over his pending dues.

“We have not finalised the settlement but we are still in the process. It is something that takes time. I just left the club one month ago so it will be well.”

Juma had served as Aussems’ assistant before being elevated when his boss left but faced a tough start to the season, managing four draws and two defeats before he was dismissed.

The former Leopards player found himself under pressure as early as the third game when a section of fans started calling for his sacking as Ingwe struggled for positive results after a signing spree in the transfer window.

The supporters got their wish following Leopards’ 2-0 loss to Gor Mahia in the ‘Mashemeji derby’ on October 7 but results are yet to improve under new coach Trucha who has overseen one win, two draws and as many defeats.

Although Juma struck a diplomatic tone, Leopards fans will be hoping for a quick settlement to avoid a legal battle that would put the club in trouble again as witnessed with Aussems and other former players who led Ingwe into a transfer ban.
