Following the club's 1-1 draw against Azam in the NBC Premier League on Tuesday evening, swirling rumors started making rounds that Oliveira had left his role as head coach.

Simba Sports Club is in a spot of bother. They are not only dealing with the team's poor form but also with the uncertainty regarding the head coach, Roberto Oliveira.

Following the club's 1-1 draw against Azam in the NBC Premier League on Tuesday evening, swirling rumours started making rounds that Oliveira had left his role as head coach.

However, Simba has denied the reports in a communication via their official Twitter handle.

"The information circulating on the internet about Coach Robertinho's contract is incorrect. He continues in his duties to prepare the club for the next CAF Champions League game against Vipers."

Roberto Oliveira has come under intense criticism following Simba's dismal show in the CAF Champions League and in the league.

Msimbazi sits second, five points adrift of rivals and table leaders Young Africans, who play on Wednesday in the NBC Premier League.

While on the continental front, Simba is rooted at the bottom of Group C after losing both of their group games.

Oliveira took over the reins at Simba at the start of January and has managed three wins, two losses, and as many draws in eight games managed so far. Simba will be hoping to make amends in the doubleheader against Vipers.

In a related development, Simba fans, one of the biggest and most loyal fan groups in East Africa, are set to raid Kampala to cheer their team when Vipers host Simba on Saturday, February 25th.

"For fans who would like to go to Uganda to cheer on our team in the CAF Champions League game against Vipers, registration is happening at the club's offices in Oyster Bay in Dar-es-Salaam," read a tweet on Simba's official Twitter handle.

Simba SC is known to have one of the biggest loyal fan bases, which is in hundreds of thousands in Tanzania and across the world.

The Kariakoo Derby, a game that pits Simba's arch-rivals in Young Africans, is regarded as the biggest football spectacle in East Africa, with up to 60,000 fans gathering, divided in green and red to watch the two sides clash.
