Super Eagles hopeful Akor Adams ruled out of Barcelona clash
Sevilla new striker Akor Adams will not play in the LALIGA clash against Barcelona this weekend.
The striker, who has been sidelined by injury, missed out on the ill-fated international window that saw the Super Eagles falter, most notably in their disappointing draw against Zimbabwe in a 2026 World Cup qualifier.
“It’s been coming for the past two, three years now, and to finally get a call, even though I was injured and just coming back, it means a lot,” Adams said.

“First, I am grateful to God because we have so many players in Nigeria, and to be a part of the coach’s 39-man list, it means I have done something right.”
Adams remained philosophical about the situation, expressing optimism about his future with the national team.

“By God’s grace, I am in the right place to take the next step,” he added.
The 25-year-old also acknowledged the depth of talent in Nigeria’s attacking ranks, saying;
“We have really good players, good strikers, but I think everyone has their place.”
