The Ivorian youngster has explained his decision to purge his social media pages of content relating to Manchester United
Amad Diallo, the Manchester United winger, has provided insights into his decision to remove all references to the club from his social media accounts.
Diallo, who recently deleted Manchester United content from his X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram accounts, explained that the move was intended to focus on Ramadan and emphasized the negative aspects of social media during fasting.
Diallo clarifies Decision
The Ivorian's decision to clear his social media presence coincides with a challenging season for the 21-year-old at Manchester United.
Despite a successful loan spell at Sunderland last season, Diallo has struggled to secure a regular spot in the starting lineup under manager Erik ten Hag. With just three substitute appearances this season, Diallo's frustration is evident.
Taking to Snapchat, Diallo defended his social media clearout, stating, 'I've deactivated my social media for a month just to focus on Ramadan. Stop the hatred, there's nothing wrong with what I did. It's the holy month for me, and social media is a place where there are bad things to see during fasting.'
Diallo aiming for impactful return
While Diallo remained an unused substitute in Manchester United's recent victory over Everton, he aims to contribute more on the field. With the FA Cup quarter-final showdown against Liverpool approaching, Diallo will be looking to make an impact and address the challenges he has faced throughout the season.
