Ouma fielded three youngsters against a vastly experienced and star-studded Kenya Police.

Sofapaka head coach David Ouma insists on being proud of his young charges despite falling victim to a 3-0 drubbing by Kenya Police FC in a league match played at the Police Sacco Stadium in Nairobi on Wednesday afternoon.

Ouma fielded three youngsters, defender Felix Malyungi, midfielder Ben Stanley Omondi and striker Jacob Adis against a vastly experienced and star-studded Police, and their inexperience was exposed by the Law enforcers.

In the 28th minute, Ouma subbed off Malyungi for Tyson Omondi because of 'not being up to task physically', but the manager still insisted the future is bright for the player.

“The game was a little bit physical because all the 50-50 balls today were not favoring my team,” said Ouma, “Tyson is a more physical player than Felix and won his battles when he came on,”

“I instructed Abuko to play further up the pitch and had two chances to score but did not. We were not clinical enough, but that is football sometimes for you.”

“I am delighted with my team considering I am having to play a lot of youngsters, compared to our opponents who have vast experience. I have three teenagers playing Premier League football. You can see Ben Stanley, Felix, and Adis there.”

Ouma lauded himself for being “courageous enough” to attempt to achieve a top-10 finish in the Premier League using young players.

“I am courageous enough. I am not fighting for the league or cup anymore, but the young kids I have integrated will thank me for giving them the opportunity to gain experience at the highest level.

“I want to give the younger players a chance so they can help the country, which is my conviction. I am not disappointed to lose 3-0 against Kenya Police who are very experienced but happy about those three for stepping up to the challenge.”

Batoto ba Mungu will face KCB in a league clash this weekend hoping to get a third win in four matches.
