Batoto ba Mungu are slowly getting their groove back after a rough patch.

Sofapaka head coach David Ouma admitted that there is still work to be done before the season comes to a close despite the win over Kariobangi Sharks.

Batoto ba Mungu won the game 1-0 courtesy of Sébastien Sunday's first-half strike, which elevated them to 12th place on the log.

In a post-match interview, the experienced trainer expressed delight about the team's performance but added that he has his work cut out to achieve their targets.

"It was a fantastic showing from my players. I believe in my squad, and I am confident we will post a mid-table finish," he said.

"We had a game where we needed three points, and we have another game on Wednesday where we need another three points.

"The season is not finished. But we have to work on many things, and I'm happy now we have a better performance than the last game," he continued.

Ouma was asked about his view on the performance of Addis Panoam, who had a fantastic performance in the match; the former Harambee Starlets head coach did not want to single out individuals and instead praised the whole team.

"We have a fantastic team full of good talent. I cannot highlight individuals, I think everybody was at an excellent level, from the defenders, midfielders, and strikers," he added.

Sofapaka are now on 34 points from 28 matches and are closer to being safe from relegation, which was a worry a few weeks ago as results were not forthcoming.

Batoto ba Mungu will take on KCB in an FKF Premier League game on Wednesday at Kasarani Annex.
