Relegation is looming for either Sofapaka or Muhoroni who head in the final match of the season needing victory and other favours to retain their FKF Premier League status.
With Gor Mahia already assured of winning the league title, attention now shifts to which team will join Nzoia Sugar in the second tier National Super League (NSL) next season.
Heading into the final match of season, Sofapaka and Muhoroni Youth are the two teams in danger of being relegated after Shabana escaped the axe, albeit temporarily, in midweek.
Shabana’s 3-0 win over Bidco United on Wednesday left them in 15th position on 35 points and they now need a draw away to Murang’a Seal to secure their place in the top flight. If they lose, then the worst-case scenario is a relegation-promotion playoff.

FKFPL: Bullish Kalekwa insists Sofapaka will survive relegation with one match to go
The 2009 FKFPL champions have struggled for much of the season and find themselves lying perilously close to being relegated from the league ahead of their last league game of the season.
Muhoroni and Sofapaka do not have such luxuries, however, as they must win or see their stay in the top flight come to an end.
Muhoroni gave themselves a massive boost on Wednesday when they recorded a surprise 6-0 victory against relegated Nzoia while Sofapaka could only draw 1-1 with Nairobi City Stars.
It leaves Sofapaka on 33 points with Muhoroni on 31. Batoto ba Mungu must therefore beat Nzoia in their final match to finish 16th and secure the relegation-promotion playoff spot which will effectively relegate Muhoroni, even if they beat Posta Rangers.

Bidco United vs Gor Mahia: Ticketing information for K'Ogalo's coronation revealed
Ticketing information has been provided as Gor Mahia prepare to be officially crowned FKFPL champions following their final league game of the season against Bidco in Machakos.
However, a loss for Sofapaka, coupled with a win for Muhoroni, will turn the tables as Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno’s men will remain on 33 points while the Got Alila-based side move to 34 and secure a playoff spot for a second successive season.
A draw for either side will work in Sofapaka’s favour but if Muhoroni win and Batoto ba Mungu share the spoils with Nzoia, then the Moses Adagala-owned team would nick the playoff place given their better goal difference.
Sofapaka have a -16-goal difference, having conceded 52 and scored 36, while Muhoroni have -11 after letting in 34 and bagging in 23.

John Baraza explains why Bandari have had underwhelming end to the season
Bandari were gunning for the title in March but have struggled for good form since.
For Sofapaka, it would be a painful end to their stay in the top flight since their promotion 15 years ago when they won the Premier League title in their maiden top flight season.
