The midfielder scored a brace and managed to get an assist in their 3-2 win over the bottom-placed side
Sofapaka FC’s Ben Stanley Omondi hopes that his side can maintain their winning run following their hard-fought 3-2 victory over bottom-of-the-table Vihiga Bullets on Tuesday.
Omondi was on song for his side, delivering two goals, his second brace of the season, while also managing an assist, in a man-of-the-match display.
"I am happy. I want to score and add more assists for the team with my strengths and quality. I want to keep working hard and I hope to continue the same in the forthcoming matches," said the attacking midfielder.
The teenage sensation, who head coach David Ouma described as a 'gem' on Sofapaka’s hands says that the team must become consistent if they are to stand a chance of finishing as high as possible.
"It will help us get momentum. At least, we have kicked on and are motivated. The last few games have been hectic for us. We have been struggling to get wins but I hope our win today will give us more momentum as we aim to finish the season on a high.”
Omondi has enjoyed a good first season for Batoto Ba Mungu, having been signed to replace Lawrence Juma who opted for greener pastures in Rwanda at the end of last season.
Sofapaka will play Kariobangi Sharks at the Kasarani Annex on Sunday.
