Erling Haaland scored 4 goals as Manchester City defeated Wolves 5-1 at the Etihad Stadium.
Haaland quadruple sinks hapless Wolves
Manchester City came out strong from the start, determined to take control of the game, and avoid any slip-ups, especially after Arsenal's 3-0 win over Bournemouth earlier in the day.
They quickly got a penalty when Rayan Aït-Nouri fouled Josko Gvardiol, and Erling Haaland stepped up to slot home the opener.
Haaland had another chance soon after, but Jose Sa made a brilliant save to deny the Norwegian.
For a while, City dominated the game, stringing passes around without any real penetration but Wolves eventually started to fight back. Nathan Aké and Ederson made some crucial interventions to prevent them from scoring.
However, Haaland struck again in the 35th minute, heading in a beautiful cross from Rodri.
Just before halftime, Haaland completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot, to make it 9 hat-tricks since he arrived in England last summer.
After the break, Wolves brought on Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, who immediately made an impact with a cross that Hwang Hee-chan scored from. But City responded quickly, with Haaland scoring his fourth goal of the game.
Julián Álvarez replaced Haaland and scored a goal of his own, setting a new club record for City with 43 unbeaten home games, across all competitions.
