The former Middlesbrough player has now secured a new role just two months after his resignation, with a job in analysis for UEFA set to occupy the 53-year-old for the foreseeable future.

Southgate has been appointed as one of UEFA's technical observers, where he will be responsible for analysing and reviewing matches from a coach's perspective, providing strategic and tactical feedback to UEFA through detailed reports.

Southgate to team up with David Moyes

Joining Southgate in this prestigious role is former West Ham, Everton, and Manchester United coach, David Moyes, who has already served as a technical observer during Euro 2024, and is well-versed in the responsibilities of the role.

Speaking on his role as a technical analyst for UEFA, Moyes said, "The most rewarding thing is to discuss so many things with a group of football people who have different opinions and ways of seeing things.

"It's really good to be part of that and I've brought information and ideas back from both EURO and the Nations League.

West Ham boss David Moyes was angry with the handling of the game by the officials.

"The ideas you get from watching the amazing coaching at top level can be exploited all the way down to junior teams."

Southgate and Moyes will be looking to aid UEFA’s development goals in their roles as technical observers, hoping to influence the next generation of coaches.
