Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala was left in awe and quick to applaud the stunning, match-defining goal scored by Spain's teenage sensation Lamine Yamal during their thrilling Euro 2024 clash against France.

It was a night of high drama and breathtaking football at the Euro 2024 semi-final between France and Lamine Yamal-led Spain, and Nigerian superstar Asisat Oshoala was left in awe of one particular moment of magic.

Oshoala praises Yamal

Randal Kolo Muani had given the French the lead early on, but 16-year-old Yamal stunned the crowd with a moment of pure genius in the 21st minute.

Weaving his way into the box, the youngster unleashed a curling shot that left France goalkeeper Mike Maignan grasping at thin air, becoming the youngest goalscorer in Euro history in the process.

And Oshoala, who spent five successful years playing at Spanish giants Barcelona, was quick to heap praise on the prodigious talent.

'YAMAAALLLLL ….this kid is special,' the Super Falcons star posted on her Twitter page, unable to contain her excitement.

Oshoala, who has forged a reputation as one of the world's best female footballers, knows a thing or two about producing moments of magic on the biggest stages.

And she clearly marvelled at Yamal's ability to rise to the occasion and deliver when his team needed him most.

France had chances to pull level in the second half, but Spain held firm to secure their place in the final, where they will face either England or the Netherlands.

Yamal's stunning strike will live long in the memory, and Oshoala's glowing endorsement of the teenage talent had football fans across the globe talking and keen to catch a glimpse of this special player in action again.
