Busoga Region’s bid to host the 2024 East Africa School Games will face stiff competition after Namilyango College and a joint effort by Bukedea Comprehensive and Amus College submitted their requests.

The organisers Federation of East Africa Secondary School Sports Association announced Uganda as the host of the 2024 East Africa Schools games after the completion of the 2023 edition in Huye District in Rwanda.

Jinja SSS and Jinja College were the first to submit their bid under Busoga Region but will now have to convince USSSA and FEASSSA if they’re to beat Bukedea.

The school owned by the Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Anita Among, has partnered with Amus College.

“Bukedea Comprehensive have submitted a joint bid with Amus College to host FEASSSA Games in 2024,” USSSA chief executive officer Chris Mugisha announced officially.

The bid was submitted by their managing director, Prof. Jonas Gumisiriza, who was accompanied by their sports tutor Medard Twikirize.

USSSA also confirmed that Namilyango College had handed in their bid as they requested to host the games.

Uganda is the overall champion of the games after emerging victorious in Rwanda.
