The Lagos club rose to the top of the 2023 NNL Southern Conference Group B2 table on Sunday, following a 3-1 victory over JoyCometh.

Sporting Lagos head coach Paul Offor has stated that his side will take time to rest and look to maintain their momentum when the Nigeria National League (NNL) makes its return.

Reacting to his team's performance, the former Warri Wolves tactician stated being on top meant that it was time to cut back on mistakes and maintain their momentum.

"We’re only halfway through the season, so we’re not distracted," Offor said in reaction to Sunday's win.

"Now that we’ve gone three games unbeaten, we need to use this confidence to build on our future results and ensure we cut out mistakes, play more confidently and win games. It’s all about momentum now.

NNL to make return April 26

The Lagos founded, founded about a year ago, have so far continued a fine form this season, losing only once in five matches, and are at the moment, on a three-match unbeaten run.

Upon resumption of the Nigerian second division on Wednesday, April 26, Sporting Lagos will play Joy Cometh in a return fixture at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium, Onikan, Lagos.
