STARS ABROAD Harambee Stars creative maestro Timothy Ouma features in IF Elfsborg's friendly win over Odd
The 19-year old, who has been capped five times by Harambee Stars, will be hoping he made enough of an impression to stake his claim as a regular starter for Elfsborg, the club that also shaped Joseph Okumu.
Additionally, the readiness of the so-called Pamoja team to host CHAN in September 2024 was also a critical part of their discussions.
Namwamba's confidence in their preparedness was palpable as he noted, "We have no doubt that we will be ready to host CHAN this year."
The CHAN tournament, reserved for players active in their domestic leagues, has seen the Kenyan government approve plans in October 2023 to host the 16-team event, following Algeria's hosting of the last tournament in early last year.
To meet the international standards required for successfully co-hosting the 2027 AFCON, Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania are embarking on extensive improvements to their sports infrastructure.
