Sports Minister set to key into Infrastructure, Facilities for Athletes’ Success

The newly appointed Minister of Sports, John Owan Enoh has declared that building infrastructure and facilities will be a top priority for his administration because these are essential for Nigeria to succeed in sports.

Enoh revealed this while he was capping off his first week in office.

He added that the Abuja stadium as a national landmark that, when entirely turned around, can compete with contemporary structures throughout Africa.

He said, “Facilities and infrastructures are a key component of sports, as they are variables that drive both elite performance and grassroots development.

“It is very important that we get it right with our facilities. We must maintain the current infrastructures that we have, and look towards making them better to match what we have across the world.

The minister promised to evaluate the condition of other buildings and infrastructure across the nation and see to it that they are upgraded as necessary.
