Tottenham Hotspur's head coach Ange Postecoglou has remained adamant about Djed Spence's international future despite recent England snub.

Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has expressed confidence in Djed Spence’s international future despite the defender’s continued absence from the England national team.

Spence was once again overlooked in Thomas Tuchel’s latest squad, with Arsenal’s Myles Lewis-Skelly earning a call-up ahead of him.

According to reports by Football London, Postecoglou dismissed concerns over Spence’s omission, emphasizing that national team selections are always subject to change.

"I’m pretty critical myself when people question my selections because every manager has all of the information they need," said Postecoglou as quoted by Football London.

"Djed has been super this year. I always feel with these things, particularly with national team selection, it’s never a kind of thing where you just draw a line through it," he added.

"I have no doubt if Djed keeps performing how he is, and Madders (James Maddison) keeps working hard, I’m sure Thomas will be looking across the board at his squads over the next period, and I’m sure both of them will be in the frame."

Spence has shown a remarkable turnaround in his club performances under Postecoglou, yet he remains on the fringes of the Three Lions setup.

The full-back, who is eligible to represent England, Kenya, and Jamaica, has previously pledged his allegiance to England.

Despite the latest setback, Spence will be hoping that consistent performances at club level will eventually earn him a place in Tuchel’s plans.

With the 2026 World Cup on the horizon, every match presents an opportunity for him to strengthen his case for international selection.
