Soltilo Bright Stars FC striker Nelson Ssenkatuka is in red-hot form in the ongoing StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
On Thursday, Ssenkatuka bagged a hat trick as the Stars defeated struggling Arua Hill SC 3-1 at Kavumba Recreation Center.
He became the first player to score three goals in the SUPL this season, and he hopes his scoring run will continue as he targets the Golden Boot.
“I am grateful for the hat trick, and I would also like to thank my teammates for their hard work in the game,” Ssenkatuka told club media in an interview.
“I have been working hard to improve my performance, and I am happy that I have found my scoring touch with the help of my teammates.”
He added: “At the start of the season, it was a bit complicated because there were a couple of new players, and we had to know each other. I struggled with an injury, but we are now finding our patterns.”
He has scored in four consecutive games and is the leading goal scorer in the SUPL with seven goals in nine matches.
“It feels great to be at the top, and that is what I am looking forward to always, but the work is still a lot with more games yet to come, but I will continue working hard, and hopefully, I will be at the top at the end of the season,” he noted.
Ssenkatuka’s goals came in the third, 45th, and 52nd minutes, while Ibrahim Musa netted for the visitors at the stroke of halftime.

Nelson Senkatuka reaches another goal-scoring milestone for Bright Stars
However, his goal-scoring stats only tell part of the tale as he is also a formidable playmaker capable of assisting goals or, rather, bringing others into play.
They are positioned ninth with ten points and have a challenging task against SC Villa at Kavumba on Tuesday, December 5.
On the other hand, Arua Hill remained at the bottom of the standings with four points from nine games, and their next match is against Wakiso Giants FC in Adjumani on Tuesday.
