Manchester City striker Erling Haaland had a burst up with Arsenal's Mikel Arteta and the players after the game at the Etihad.

A last-minute equaliser and post-match confrontation led by Erling Haaland and Mikel Arteta marked a dramatic Premier League encounter between Manchester City and Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday.

The match, which ended in a 2-2 draw, saw tempers flare after the final whistle when City striker Haaland was involved in a heated exchange with Arsenal players and staff.

Manchester City needed a stoppage-time strike from John Stones to salvage a point in what had been a pulsating contest on Super Sunday.

Haaland had opened the scoring for the hosts after just 9 minutes, finishing brilliantly after being played through by Savinho.

The champions looked in control and pushed for a second, with Savinho particularly menacing. However, Arsenal fought back and took the lead, seemingly on course for an upset victory until Stones' late intervention kept City at the top of the table.

The drama continued after the match when Haaland was filmed in a confrontation with Arsenal players, led by Gabriel Jesus. The incident reportedly stemmed from comments Haaland made to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

In a video posted on social media, Haaland can be heard saying, "Stay humble eh, stay humble" to Arteta. This prompted a reaction from Jesus, who confronted Haaland, asking, "Why you saying (that)? Talking about what?"

The exchange quickly escalated, with Haaland allegedly calling Jesus a 'clown' before the two were separated by teammates and staff.

Arsenal boss Arteta was more reticent and shocked by the event as he looked at the Norwegian star before he tried to calm his players down.

The incident has added another layer of intrigue to what is shaping up to be a fiercely contested title race. Both Manchester City and Arsenal have shown strong early-season form, and this draw keeps them neck-and-neck at the top of the Premier League table.

All eyes will be on how this confrontation might affect the relationship between the two clubs in what promises to be an enthralling battle for the Premier League crown.

The Premier League could review the incident and decide if any further action is necessary.
