Fans at Al-Ettifaq are already putting pressure on Steven Gerrard after the team's poor run of winless games.

In July, Gerrard was hired by Al-Ettifaq and committed to a two-year contract with the team after leaving Aston Villa.

Since then, he has acquired several well-known European players, notably Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson.

Despite his signings, the ex-Aston Villa manager received a "fix your mistakes" warning from the fans after his team's three-match losing streak.

Gerrard in a tight spot

Al-Ettifaq have lost their last three league games after falling to Al-Riyadh on Sunday by a score of 1-0.

The Commandos are presently sitting in seventh place in the Saudi Pro League, nine points behind league leaders Al-Hilal.

Speaking after the defeat, Gerrard explained as reported by the Sun, "We didn't show what was required of us. We weren't at the level we'd hoped to be at.

"The opposition's plan was clear to frustrate and wait for the opportunities. The mistakes cost us today, we gifted three points to Al Riyadh."

However, Al-Ettifaq supporters were unconvinced by Gerrards’ comments and posted their worries on social media.

One fan angrily said, "Being a great player does not mean being an excellent coach. The coach's capabilities are limited and he could not understand the difficulty of the Saudi League."

Another fan added, "You are the one who bears blame for today’s match. Correct your mistakes."

A third supporter replied, "Your team is disastrous, Coach. You must correct it yourself."

Another one wrote, "The excuse is unacceptable. This is the state of the team. What is new that you can say?"

On Saturday, Gerrard's Al-Ettifaq will face Al-Wehda with the opportunity to end their winless run of games.
