The Al Nassr star thought he had given his side a late winner, but his joy was turned to disappointment
Cristiano Ronaldo found himself as the butt of jokes on X, after Al Nassr's Saudi Pro League opener ended in a frustrating 1-1 draw against Al-Raed.
The Portuguese superstar thought he had secured a late winner for his side, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside after a lengthy VAR review, and fans were quick to mock Ronaldo online, with many suggesting he should switch careers and go full time into content creation.

Al Nassr's struggles continue in Saudi Pro League opener
Ronaldo scored a first-half header that seemed to put the team on the right track, but a second-half penalty conceded by Aymeric Laporte allowed Al-Raed to equalise.
The Portuguese star thought he had won the game for Al Nassr when, after a pinpoint cross from Sadio Mane, Ronaldo headed the ball into the net, leading to wild celebrations.
However, after a VAR review, the goal was disallowed due to a marginal offside call, leaving Ronaldo and his teammates disappointed.
Despite their best efforts, Luis Castro's side couldn't find a way past Al-Raed's defence in the closing stages and were forced to settle for a point.
The disappointing draw against Al-Raed comes on the heels of a heavy defeat in the Saudi Super Cup final, where Al Nassr was soundly beaten 4-1 by Al-Hilal.
Ronaldo trolled after disallowed Al Nassr goal
Ronaldo's apparent game-winning goal in the 75th minute turned from pure elation for the Al Nassr forward to abject sadness, but his problems did not end on the pitch.
The offside call and Ronaldo’s celebrations sparked a wave of reactions on social media, where fans mocked Ronaldo for jubilating over an offside goal.
Many users referenced his new YouTube channel, which has quickly garnered over 16 million subscribers, telling the five-time Ballon d'Or winner to "stick to YouTube" and retire from football.
Despite the criticism, Ronaldo's channel has been a huge success, breaking viewership records with behind-the-scenes content and personal insights into his life, although the Portuguese star is unlikely to give up his football career for content creation just yet.
