The former Serie A champions are now desperate to sell Osimhen with the end of the transfer window on the horizon

Napoli's appear increasingly eager to cash in on Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen this summer and have taken a drastic step to sell the Super Eagles striker.

After failing to secure a big-money move for Osimhen, the Serie A champions have reportedly reduced their asking price as their desperation grows with the transfer window drawing to a close.

Napoli Forced to Lower Demands Amid Transfer Stalemate

At the start of the summer transfer window, Napoli had initially set a hefty €130 million price tag for Osimhen as per the striker’s release clause, banking on a lucrative summer sale to ease their financial burdens.

However, with less than a week remaining before the transfer window shuts, the club has yet to receive the offers that they wanted for Osimhen, and according to transfer specialist Fabrice Hawkins, Napoli is now willing to accept offers as low as €70 million, including add-ons, for their star forward.

The transfer saga took another twist when Saudi Arabian club Al-Ahli reached an agreement with Napoli for Osimhen, but the transfer could not be completed as the Nigerian rejected the chance to move to Saudi Arabia.

During the latest developments, Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, reiterated that his client’s desire is to continue his career in Europe, stating on social media that the striker “still has much to do in Europe.”

With no club willing to meet the original €130 million valuation, Napoli is now reportedly hoping to salvage the situation by slashing the asking price in half.

Napoli’s apparent decision to lower their demands and Osimhen’s refusal to leave the continent have caught the attention of European giants Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, who were both interested in the Nigerian striker this summer.

While PSG has not yet made a formal bid, the French champions remain Osimhen’s preferred destination, despite lingering interest from Chelsea, and the Ligue 1 giants could be tempted to make a move after losing Goncalo Ramos to a lengthy injury.
