The Muhoroni-based club has sealed a deal worth Ksh38m per year with a betting firm.
Wazito FC have something to smile about despite their current position in Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) standings.
The Muhoroni-based side has sealed a four-year shirt sponsorship deal with betting firm Bet Afriq.
According to a reliable source, the deal will see the club get 38 million per season, where the money will cover all significant club expenses and salaries, including that of the coach and the rest of the technical bench.
“Wazito have signed a four-year deal worth Ksh 38 million per season.I don’t want to give more details, as the sponsor will divulge everything on the new deal,” the source disclosed.
Wazito are coached by Charles Odera and are placed second from bottom with ten points from 16 matches as the second leg sets to resume on Wednesday.
The sponsorship deal with Betafriq will remove a massive burden off Wazito, who were hitherto severally faced with financial difficulties.
Wazito FC was recently acquired by Kisumu-based tycoon Engineer Joel Odongo from Dubai-based businessman Ricardo Badoer.
The club was previously based in the capital Nairobi, but under the new ownership, they moved to Muhoroni.
National Division One Zone B League side Muhoroni Youth owner Moses Adagala is also one of the directors at the club.
