Here are the top five must-watch matches involving Super Eagles stars across European leagues.

This weekend promises to be a thrilling spectacle for Nigerian football fans as some of the country's brightest stars take the field in matches around the globe.

From the Premier League to La Liga, Nigerian players will be battling for three points with their clubs and showcasing their exceptional talent.

Here are five key matches that you will not want to miss:

Victor Osimhen (Galatasaray vs. Caykur Rizespor) - Saturday, 6 p.m. Nigerian time

Osimhen is set to make his debut for Galatasaray in their Turkish Super Lig match against Rizespor on Saturday. The 25-year-old joined the Istanbul giants on loan from Napoli after a well-covered transfer battle with his parent club

Fresh from international duty, where he bagged a goal for Nigeria against Benin in Uyo, Osimhen will be keen to hit the ground running at his new club, especially as Galatasaray’s first choice striker before his arrival, Mauro Icardi, is sidelined.

The match will also feature other Nigerians, as Rizespor have three Nigerian players, Ibrahim Olawoyin, Okechukwu Azubuike, and Babajide David, in their ranks.

Galatasaray have a perfect record in the league this season with three wins out of three, and they currently sit second in the Super Lig, one point behind rivals Fenerbahce, who have played one more game.

Victor Boniface and Nathan Tella (Hoffenheim vs. Bayer Leverkusen) - Saturday, 2.30 p.m. Nigerian time

Super Eagles
Bayer Leverkusen duo of Victor Boniface and Nathan Tella with their double.

Boniface and Tella will be hoping to help Bayer Leverkusen bounce back quickly from their first league defeat since May 2023.

The reigning Bundesliga champions squandered a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 against RB Leipzig just before the international break.

Boniface is expected to play from the start, as he has done in the opening two league matches, while Tella is likely to come from the bench just as he did in the last game.

Both players are yet to record any direct goal contribution so far and will be hoping they can get off the mark against Hoffeinheim.

Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidera Ejuke (Sevilla vs. Getafe) - Saturday, 5.30 p.m. Nigerian time

Super Eagles
Super Eagles duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidera Ejuke against Real Mallorca.

Sevilla have started this season poorly, as they are still in search of their first win and have just two points from four matches.

The two Nigerians at the club, Iheanacho and Ejuke, who are both attackers, are yet to get off the mark, with neither having any goal contribution so far.

While Ejuke has featured three times, with two starts, Iheanacho has only played two games while he only started one.

Both players will be hoping to feature from the start when Sevilla take on Getafe, another club yet to record a win in La Liga this season.

Samuel Chukwueze (AC Milan vs. Venezia) - Saturday, 7.45 p.m. Nigerian time

The winger will hope he can get off the mark this season when Milan resumes the search for their first Serie A win this season.

The Rossoneri have drawn two and lost one of three league matches this season, while Chukwueze is yet to bag any goal or assist despite starting two of those matches and coming in as a substitute in the third.

A home game against Venezia will seem ideal for Milan to get their first win, as the visitors have lost two and drawn one of their three league matches so far, while Milan have also lost just one of their 13 previous home games against them in Serie A.

Ademoola Lookman (Atalanta vs. Fiorentina) - Sunday, 2 p.m. Nigerian time

Lookman is set to make his first Serie A appearance this season, having not featured in the opening three games due to transfer speculations, according to reports.

The Ballon d’Or nominee was in action for Nigeria during the break as he bagged a brace in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier win over Benin in Uyo.

Gian Piero Gasperini will hope that the player is now settled enough following the closure of the transfer window, as he will need his star man to help the club stop a two-match losing streak.
