The battle of compatriots saw Iwobi's Fulham take on Bassey's new club Sevilla, with the LaLiga side emerging victorious in a 2-1 win.

While Sevilla's Chidera Ejuke's impressive start to life with his club earned him a starting berth again, it was Iwobi and Bassey who captured the attention of fans after the final whistle.

Despite the disappointment of the result, the two Nigerian Premier League stars warmed the hearts of supporters with their show of unity.

Iwobi, 28, and Bassey, 24, quickly congratulated Sevilla's goalscorer Emily Smith Rowe on his debut strike. But the duo didn't stop there, as they hijacked Smith Rowe's post-match interview, taking over the session.

Fulham’s best player in Portugal so far Iwobi was seen asking his fellow Arsenal academy graduate questions about his experience, showcasing a genuine interest in his new teammate's progress.

The heartwarming exchange highlighted the strong bond between the Nigerian players, transcending the rivalry on the pitch.

Fans of both Fulham and Arsenal were delighted to see Iwobi and Bassey's display of camaraderie, with many taking to social media to praise the duo for their heartwarming actions.
