Seven stars have landed in the Super Eagles camp ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers

Nigeria’s Super Eagles’ camp for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against the Benin Republic and Rwanda has officially opened with seven stars already showing up for duty.

Nigeria set to battle Benin Republic and Rwanda

The Super Eagles will do battle against the Benin Republic and Rwanda during the September international break, hoping to secure a place on the plane to the 2025 AFCON finals in Morocco.

Nigeria first squares up against the Benin Republic at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on September 7th, before travelling to Kigali to take on Rwanda three days later.

After finishing as runners-up at the 2023 AFCON, Nigeria will be hoping to go one step further in Morocco, and will hope to start on the right foot with a steady qualification campaign.

Players troop into Super Eagles camp

In anticipation of the clashes against the Benin Republic and Rwanda, the Super Eagles camp doors swung open on Monday morning with seven stars already heeding the clarion call to represent Nigeria in the AFCON 2025 qualifiers.

AFCON 2023 Most Valuable Player William Troost-Ekong, who recently celebrated turning 31 was among the early birds, alongside Nottingham Forest stars Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi.

Italy-based Serie A stars Ademola Lookman and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru also made early arrivals to the team camp, as well as West Brom’s Semi Ajayi.

Super Eagles returnee Olisa Ndah has also made an early entry into the camp, hoping to earn his place in the Nigerian team after also representing his country at the 2019 AFCON.
