The Monaco youngster was robbed on his way home after a birthday party
AS Monaco’s 18-year-old forward George Ilenikhena, who is eligible to represent Nigeria’s Super Eagles, was the victim of a shocking armed robbery in Corbeil-Essonnes, France, over the weekend.
The incident on Rue Gustave-Eiffel unfolded after the player and a friend returned home from a birthday party.
Ilenikhena involved in terrifying ordeal
According to reports from Le Parisien, Ilenikhena was driving his Volkswagen Golf when four armed individuals forced him to stop.
The attackers, wielding handguns, threatened the young star and demanded his luxury shoes, phone, and car keys.
The Lagos-born youngster complied with their demands, but as the perpetrators attempted to escape in his vehicle, they lost control and crashed it.
The robbers then fled the scene on foot, leaving the car behind. Fortunately, neither Ilenikhena nor his friend sustained any injuries during the incident.
