Cyriel Dessers' move to Rangers from Cremonese for a cool five million euros has been a game-changer for the Scottish Premiership's giants.

The Nigerian international, after a slow start, has found his groove, setting Ibrox alight with his goalscoring prowess.

Despite initial challenges in adapting to his new surroundings, Dessers has quickly become a key figure for Rangers, demonstrating his worth on the field.

His journey wasn't without its hurdles; missing out on the AFCON 2023 squad could have been a setback, but Dessers used the time to focus on his club performance, netting four goals during the competition.

Ambitions Unleashed

Dessers' ambitions are sky-high. After a heart-to-heart with the striker coach at the beginning of the season, he set a personal target: "I don’t like to pin myself to a number of goals but I said I want to contribute to twenty-five goals in the season.

"I am on twenty-one now with fourteen goals and seven assists. So we are getting closer. I hope we still have a lot of games to go in the league, in Europe, in the cup," he shared, as reported by Soccernet, reflecting his drive and commitment to the team's success.

The striker's appetite for success doesn't stop there. With the season still unfolding, Dessers is eager to surpass his initial goal, aiming for more goals, more assists, and, ultimately, more victories for Rangers.

"I am not satisfied with this. I want more goals, I want more assists, I want more victories. We want to keep going, all of us. It is fair to say the fans wanted more against Ross County, and we wanted more as well.

"The most important thing is that we had a lot of chances and shots," Dessers added, highlighting his and the team's aspirations for the season.

Rangers, neck and neck with Celtic atop the Scottish Premiership table, are in a fierce battle for supremacy. With Dessers in fine form, the Ibrox faithful have every reason to dream big.
