Nigeria's Olympic gold medalist, Abiodun Olugbemiga Obafemi has shared a warning to the Super Eagles players and urged them to be competitive.

Abiodun is a former Nigerian professional footballer who played as a defender with different German clubs, including Augsburg, Fortuna Koln, SSV Reutlingen, etc.

The ex-international expressed disapproval over some players not consistently giving their best for the national team after the defeat to Rwanda in the last AFCON qualifiers in Uyo.

“We expected so much from these guys based on their performances with their clubs, but when they come to Nigeria, they do what they cannot in their teams.

“It’s a very big concern. They must be competitive. I don’t understand why they are selecting games,” he said in an interview with Brila.

The Super Eagles have secured a spot in the 35th African Cup of Nations in Morocco next year.
