Maduka Okoye: Udinese reject transfer move for Super Eagles goalkeeper
Udinese have rejected every transfer move made by the Italian side Torino for Super Eagles' number one goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye.
As it happened
Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye is in goal for Udinese as they kick off their first Serie A match of the season against Bologna.
Okoye, mobbed by a pitched invader in Udinese’s Coppa Italia win, was in goal after his impressive display against Avellino.
The first half looked more cagey for both teams and few chances were created, with Udinese failing to pose any threat.
Okoye was called to action in the eighth minute and made a great two-handed save to keep his team in the game.
The second half started and Bologna's first chance led to a penalty, which was converted to give the home side the lead.
Riccardo Orsolini ran up to the ball, stopped and waited for Maduka Okoye to commit before slotting the penalty into the net.
Shortly after, Udinese pushed forward and got the equaliser from a corner kick. A corner was whipped in and Lautaro Giannetti was in the right place at the right time, planting his header straight into the bottom left corner.
Both teams pushed to get a late win but were unable to create any chance, with the referee calling an end to the game.
