Naija Stars Abroad: Ademola Lookman booms, Ola Aina cooks as Super Falcons duo shine on quiet weekend
Ademola Lookman was the star for Naija Stars Abroad at the weekend with Ola Aina and Ifeoma Onumonu in superb form.
Ola Aina’s commendable outing
The Nigerian has been an integral member of Nuno Espirito Santos’ Nottingham Forest this season, starting all ten games they have played so far this campaign.
He took the performance up a notch last weekend when he scored a ‘worldie’ as his first goal of the Premier League season.
The Tricky Trees destroyed West Ham 3-0 to enter the Premier League's top four for the first time in decades. Aina was resolute defensively to help his team keep a clean sheet and to cap it off, he rounded the scoring on the day with a sublime effort after Chris Wood and Hudson Odoi had put Forest two clear.
Aina makes Deeney’s list
The former Torino defender's performance was noticed by all who watched. Troy Deeney, who was on punditry duties, praised the Nigerian’s consistency and named him as the left back in his team of the week.
“I could have put Ipswich's Leif Davis in and wanted to but Forest are steadily going about their business,” Deeney said, per the BBC. “Aina was great in the win over West Ham—he has been for a few weeks and has been unfortunate to miss out. I like to give credit to people who have showed they can do it over a period of time.”
