Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong has said his goodbyes after leaving Greek champions PAOK FC.

Super Eagles defender William Troost-Ekong has officially announced his departure from Greek champions PAOK FC after a successful one-year stint with the club. 

The 30-year-old centre-back took to social media to express his gratitude and bid farewell to the team, staff, and fans.

In his heartfelt message, Troost-Ekong reflected on an "amazing year & season in Thessaloniki," thanking everyone involved in the club for the opportunity to be part of their recent success. 

He specifically acknowledged the club president, staff, medical team, head coach Razvan Lucescu, and his teammates, whom he described as becoming "family."

The defender's time at PAOK was marked by significant achievements. Troost-Ekong played a crucial role in the team's Super League title win last season, contributing to six clean sheets throughout the campaign. 

His impact extended beyond domestic success, as he was also instrumental in PAOK's Champions League first leg playoff victory against Borac.
