Super Eagles forward Paul Onauchu applies pressure on Southampton in their negotiations with his desired club, Trabzonspor.

Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has reportedly turned in his transfer request to Southampton to force a move to Turkish side Trabzonspor this summer.

Onuachu was signed by the Saints in the winter transfer window of 2023 from Belgian side Genk in their bid to stave off the drop. Following relegation, Onuachu left on loan to Trabzonspor. He impressed in the Super Lig, and now, the Black Sea Storm are making an effort to sign him permanently.

According to reports, the Turkish side have been in negotiations with Southampton over the transfer of the Nigerian forward; however, the Championship side have been holding out for €15 million.

The lanky striker settled nicely in Turkey. He scored 14 goals in 20 games last season, and Trabzonspor are pulling all the stops to acquire him. However, they are unable to match Southampton's valuation.

The Nigerian striker is back at the English club. He joined pre-season training but has remained unused in all three friendly games—Eastleigh, Bordeaux, and Montpellier—Southampton have played so far.

According to a report from Sport Witness, Onuachu has made a move to apply pressure on the Saints. He is said to have sent in a transfer request, as he has his heart set on a return to Trabzonspor.

Meanwhile, Southampton have been linked with a move for Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi Samuel, who plays for Turkish side Fenerbahce
