Swedish coach Janne Andersson has confirmed that he is in negotiations with the Nigerian Football Federation to become the next Super Eagles boss.
The Nigerian senior national team role has been vacant for two months since the legendary Finidi George turned in his papers.
Andersson, who is currently out of the job after stepping down from the Swedish national team role following his failure to qualify for the 2024 European Championship, could be the next Super Eagles boss.

What Andersson said
In a conversation with Swedish outlet Expressen, the 61-year-old tactician confirmed he is in negotiations with the NFF for the Super Eagles job, and is keen to assume the role. However, he tempered expectations by adding that nothing was set in stone.
“I can confirm that I have had a dialogue with the Nigeria Football Federation,” Andersson told the outlet. It's a huge footballing nation so I'm extremely flattered to be in the running to be their next national team captain.
“Dialogue is ongoing and I don't really want to say more than that. I have been in this industry for so long and know that things can happen in different ways. So we'll see what happens in the future. There is nothing that is clear at the moment. We'll see.”
