Benin Republic captain Steve Mounie has declared that the Cheetahs are ready to fight to defeat the Super Eagles in their AFCON 2025 qualifier.

Benin Republic captain Steve Mounie has issued a bold statement ahead of their clash with the Super Eagles of Nigeria, declaring that the Cheetahs are ready to fight and win.

Gernot Rohr's men will be full of confidence after their 2-1 victory over Nigeria in June, and Mounie is confident that his team can replicate that success.

Speaking to reporters in Uyo, the FC Augsburg striker revealed his team are mentally ready to fight for everything.

"With the spirit we have in the team now, we don't give up.

"We will try to fight together on the pitch, and that will be important tomorrow."

Mounie emphasised that the team's collective effort is crucial, saying,

"It doesn't matter who scores or makes the assist, the most important thing tomorrow is to get a result."

The Cheetahs will face the Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Saturday, and Mounie is eager to lead his team to another historic win.

The game is set to begin at 5 p.m. Nigeria time at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

The match will be available on DSTV's Supersport and Afro Sport.
