Nigeria and Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze was name-checked by his German-born Senegalese teammate at AC Milan.

AC Milan defender Malick Thiaw has lifted the lid on the lively personality of his Super Eagles teammate Samuel Chukwueze, describing the winger as the "funniest player" in the Rossoneri squad.

Chukwueze, who joined Milan from Villarreal last summer, has had a slow start to life in Italy, contributing six goals across 34 appearances in all competitions during his debut season.

Despite his shaky start at Milan, it's the 24-year-old's off-field antics that have caught the attention of his German-born Senegalese teammate Thiaw.

Thiaw gave a one-word answer in the interview to praise the talented Super Eagles star's infectious character.

"(Samuel) Chukwueze” Thiaw told Gazzetta when asked the funniest player at the Serie A giants.

The 22-year-old defender, who has struggled with injuries this campaign, also revealed that Ivorian legend Yaya Toure is a football icon he loves, highlighting the former Manchester City midfielder's as a player he loved as a kid.

Despite his limited playing time due to fitness issues, Thiaw has clearly been impressed by Chukwueze's ability to keep the Milan squad entertained, even in the midst of a challenging season for former Serie A champions.

Chukwueze's reputation as a skilled dribbler and pacy winger is yet to make him a fan favorite at the San Siro, but it now seems his infectious personality has already endeared him to his teammates and dressing room.

AC Milan secured a spot in next season's Champions League with a second-place finish. Still, the club hopes Chukwueze will find the form that convinced them to sign him as they look to compete better for the title next season.
