Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum cheers Deborah Abiodun's first goal for her new club.

Super Falcons star Deborah Abiodun scored her first goal for her new team, the University of Pittsburgh Panthers, and her national team coach Randy Waldrum took to X to share his reaction.

Deborah was a member of the Nigerian contingent at the just-concluded FIFA Women's World Cup. She had a noteworthy first match against Canada but had her tournament cut short due to a red card, which warranted a three-match ban.

19-year-old Abiodun recently moved from NWFL side Rivers Angels to American collegiate team Pittsburgh Panthers, a team managed by Waldrum himself.

The Panthers beat the Bucknell Bison 5-0 at Ambrose Urbanic Field, and Abiodun was on the scoresheet.

The Super Falcons midfielder scored the fourth goal of the game, heading the ball from a set piece delivered by Keera Melenhorst.

The Pittsburgh University women's soccer programme announced that Abiodun joined their programme back in March this year, and she has now scored her new goal.

The Super Falcons coach, who is not shy about sharing his reactions on social media, has once again taken to the X platform.

Waldrum, who is the coach of the Panthers, celebrated Abiodun's addition to the programme back in March when she was signed on, and yesterday, when she scored her first goal, he took to the same platform to praise her.

He tweeted, "First career collegiate goal with many more to come!"

Being her coach at both the collegiate and national team levels, it is safe to assume that Waldrum has a lot of vested interest in her development. He seems to have wanted her for the programme and has huge plans for her.
