Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala is set to become the first person to receive the FIFA new award called the ‘Marta Award’.

The 'Marta Award,' named for the renowned Brazilian football player, was created by FIFA to honour the finest goal in women's football.

The award represents the female Puskás category, which is specifically for the best goal in women’s football.

The award honours the most outstanding goals between August 21, 2023, and August 10, 2024 and will be presented in January 2025.
