Ijamilusi was full of praise for Athletico Madrid femenino forward Ajibade, who also doubles as Nigeria's team captain.

Folashade Ijamilusi, the hat-trick hero for the Super Falcons in their 4-1 victory over Algeria, has revealed the role her teammate, Rasheedat Ajibade, played in her stellar performance.

Speaking after the game, Ijamilusi expressed her joy at scoring three goals and acknowledged the contributions of those who made it possible.

"I feel so good. for me scoring the three goals, and all thanks to God and also to the coaches for giving me the privilege and also to my wonderful teammates for their efforts, I’m so grateful to God,” she told Brila FM.

However, Ijamilusi reserved some special praise for Ajibade, the team captain and fellow forward.

"Let me say from Rash [eedat Ajibade], she told me they [the Algerian women] will want to go for her and that I should take it. Then I used the opportunity,” Ijamilusi explained.

This pre-match advice appears to have been a key factor in Ijamilusi's success. Recognising that Algeria might focus on containing Ajibade, she capitalised on the space created, scoring her first goal from a corner kick just 12 minutes into the match.

Her second goal came shortly after, as she followed up on a rebound after Blessing Ilivieda's shot hit the crossbar.

Ijamilusi's clinical finishing and relentless effort proved crucial in securing a dominant victory for the Super Falcons.

This win follows their previous 2-0 victory over Algeria on the same pitch just three days prior.

Overall, the match serves as a positive display for the Super Falcons, showcasing their attacking prowess and defensive resilience. With Ijamilusi emerging as a goal-scoring threat alongside Ajibade, the team looks well-positioned for future challenges.
