Super Falcons returns to Lagos after three years

Super Falcons will host Algeria at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos Island, on Saturday, October 26th.

The Super Falcons of Nigeria will return to play in Lagos after three years when they host Algeria in an international friendly match.

Announcing the venue, the NFF director of communication, Dr Ademola Olajire, confirmed that the matches are billed for the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos Island, on Saturday, October 26th, and Tuesday, October 29th, respectively.

The last time the Super Falcons played in Lagos was during the Aisha Buhari Invitational Tournament in 2021.

The NFF organised the Aisha Buhari Invitational tournament, featuring six African teams. The Super Falcons finished third, while Morocco claimed the championship.

Madugu invites players for the friendlies

Head Coach Justine Madugu has called up captain Rasheedat Ajibade, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, and 23 other players for two international friendly matches.

Madugu has also called Turkey-based defender Oluwatosin Demehin, Comfort Folorunsho of Edo Queens, Spain-based Gift Monday and a long list of home-based professionals and a couple of Falconets who featured at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia last month.

The Algerian delegation is expected in Nigeria on Wednesday.

The Confederation of African Football has already approved the two games, which will be superintended by FIFA match officials from Benin Republic.
