A recent report has revealed that Victor Osimhen was close to a move to the Premier League on deadline day, but not to Chelsea, as was well reported.
The 25-year-old was keen on an exit from Naples this summer, and up until the end of the transfer window, he had offers on the table from Saudi Professional League side Al Ahli and the Premier League's Chelsea.

The offer from the Gulf was significant financially, but the striker preferred a move to another European team, while Chelsea could not match Osimhen's wage demands. However, Corriere Dello Sport reported that Liverpool were a late entry into the race.
Liverpool bid for Osimhen
The Reds had a relatively quiet summer transfer window, only managing to sign Federico Chiesa from Juventus days before deadline day and Giorgi Mamardashvili, who will only join next summer.
A recent report claimed that they were close to sealing another late-in-the-window move as they tabled a bid for Osimhen. Per the report, with Chelsea dallying, Liverpool tried to hijack the move for the Nigerian ace.
However, like the Blues, the Reds were unable to match Osimhen's wage demands.
Although he could not secure an exit from Napoli before the end of the window, Osimhen has capitalised on the Turkey Super Lig that remains open and has signed for Galatasaray on a season-long loan deal.
