The Red Devils lost to Liverpool 3-0 during a pre-season friendly in the United States.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has expressed his disappointment after his side suffered a 3-0 defeat to rivals Liverpool in a pre-season friendly match in the United States.
First-half goals from Fabio Carvalho and Curtis Jones gave Liverpool a 2-0 lead at the break before Greek left-back Konstantinos Tsimikas added a third after the interval to seal the win.
However, Dutch tactician Ten Hag was displeased because his charges didn't take their chances while Liverpool players buried the opportunities they had.
"We created a lot of chances, the difference is Liverpool took theirs. Liverpool played well and took their chances. We created good chances but we didn’t take them. We need to be more clinical," Ten Hag said.

The Dutchman attributed some of the performance to fatigue, given the team's intensive pre-season schedule, "In the end, it is fatigue. We are 12 or 13 days underway and it is a tough game. But maybe we miss the freshness to overfuel or to have the power to finish clinically," he added.

When questioned about Jadon Sancho's potential as a striker, Ten Hag responded, "Otherwise we don’t play him there. That is what we can do if we don’t have the availability of Rasmus [Hojlund]. Of course, Joshua Zirkzee is coming in.
"He has started training. But he is not so long in training so it will take time and he has to adjust to English football and our way of playing. Jadon can of course as a striker. He can also play in wide areas but it could be he is a good option."
Regarding Marcus Rashford's suitability as a lone forward, Ten Hag said, "I think Marcus has done it before, he can do it and it is definitely an option. But I think he is more productive from the left inside when he is coming inside, so when he can arrive there he is most effective. But we also have Bruno Fernandes as a striker as well."
Finally, addressing the defensive situation, Ten Hag commented, "We have good options in the centre-back position. Harry Maguire was a precaution.
