Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag ripped into his players for not giving maximum effort throughout Thursday night's 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

Manchester United gave up a two-goal lead against Tottenham after dominating for large parts of the clash.

Goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford put United in a comfortable position at half-time but a poor performance after the break allowed Pedro Porro and Son Heung-min to earn the hosts a point.

The Red Devils gave up two important points which saw them lose ground on Newcastle in the race for third place, with Eddie Howe's men winning 4-1 against Everton earlier.

"Some thought 90 percent was enough," United boss Ten Hag said angrily after the game.

"I know they are not robots and fatigue is an issue but you have to give it everything on every occasion. That is the basis.

"We took a bit of the gas off and that was our problem.

"I think it's been that for a few games where we are sharp and coming ahead and [haven't] kept it going."

Despite the result, Manchester United are still on track to qualify for the Champions League.
