Manchester United club legend has been demoted from his post as technical director by manager Erik Ten Hag.
Darren Fletcher was appointed to the technical director position in March 2021 under football director John Murtough.
The midfielder played for United for more than 20 years, amassing over 300 games and winning five Premier League championships.
However, there have been rumours regarding Fletcher's future ever since Sir Jim Ratcliffe became United's co-owner.

Ten Hag demotes Fletcher
Fletcher has been moved to a different position, which appears to be a demotion from his previous job.
According to The Athletic, Fletcher has been moved to first-team coach, where he will be in charge of helping academy players transition to the senior squad.
This comes after Ten Hag appointed deputy managers Rene Hake and Ruud van Nistelrooy and added first-team coach Andreas Georgson.
Sporting director Dan Ashworth has highlighted these adjustments as a key component of United's strategy.
Ashworth said, "Together with Erik, we are working to strengthen all areas of our men's first-team operations, and refreshing the coaching staff is an important part of that.
"It's a particular pleasure to welcome Ruud back to the club where he enjoyed so much success as a player, and I know that he and Rene will help reinforce the winning mentality and high standards we are aiming for."
Despite his little decline in Ten Hag's inner circle, Fletcher is expected to still be in the Old Trafford dugout.
Ten Hag and his team are preparing for their Premier League season opener at home against Fulham.
