Leopards could not find a way to claw through a resolute Talanta side who were reduced to ten men early in the second half.
In a game characterized by a series of fouls that prevented the game from getting into any seemingly rhythm, AFC Leopards were unable to beat Ken Kenyatta’s Talanta, who played with ten men for the better part of the second half.
The first half did not have much to write about, with both sides not really creating inroads into the other side’s final thirds from open play.

However, FC Talanta were the side that looked most likely to score in the first half, when they won two set pieces in very dangerous areas just before the half-hour mark, but both attempts were unfruitful
Leopards started the brighter of the two sides in the second half, with Cliff Nyakeya nearly creating a chance out of nothing when he cut in from the right wing and then drove with the ball towards the middle before attempting to beat Ian Omondi at pace, but he could not get beyond him.
They had another set piece situation in the 49th minute when Kimani executed a well floated freekick into the box which caused confusion in the Talanta penalty box, before it was scrambled away for a corner kick.
Kimani floated in the resulting corner which appeared to be handled by a Talanta player in the box, but referee Isaac Hamisi did not heed to calls by AFC players for the penalty.
Leopards had what became the first real chance to score when keeper Maxwell Mulili launched a smart long ball over the top towards Nyakeya, which forced Talanta keeper Wakasala Isaiah into coming off his line to clear the ball to safety.

Time was starting to run out with Ingwe mounting pressure and in the 85th minute, Yassin Sije should have broken the deadlock when he was found inside the Talanta box, before attempting a shot that sailed just wide off the mark.
Before the game ended, substitute Luke Namanda tore through the midfield before he passed the ball to Washington Munene, who crossed the ball to Sije, but his header was saved by Talanta keeper Wakasala to deny Leopards all three points
