Barcelona's youngster Lamine Yamal has assured fans of the club that he is going to pen a renewal, as he wants to stay at the club for as long as possible.
The 17-year-old is one of the biggest prospects in world football, and he has the Kopa trophy as proof. Hence, he is not without suitors, with Barcelona's president Laporta claiming to have rejected a sizable bid from Paris Saint-Germain last season.

Rio Ferdinand has claimed that Barcelona's teenage talent, Lamine Yamal, is already more promising than Lionel Messi was at the same age.

He has the spoken of in the same breath as club record scorer Lionel Messi, who spent nearly his entire career at Barcelona; however, with his contract a short one still, clubs are circling like sharks.
What Yamal said
The Spain international winger’s contract expires in 2027, two and a half years from now. He has yet to pen a lengthy deal due to being underaged.
However, Yamal dispelled all notions that he could be tempted to leave Barcelona, as he told reporters he would definitely put pen to paper for his renewal.
“I believe my new contract will be signed soon. Barça is the club of my life,” Yamal told CNN. “I hope to renew and stay as long as possible... I want to play in La Liga. I want to play for Barça. I will renew my contract. I will do it.”
Barcelona are not out of the woods yet and still struggle to either register signings or pursue choice players. Still, they can rely on loyalty from players like Yamal developed from their La Masia system.
