There's renewed belief in the Kenya Police team after the appointment of Ndayiragije and Sakari believes the law enforcers have what it takes to wrestle the FKFPL title from Gor Mahia.

Kenya Police right-back Daniel Sakari has tipped the law enforcers to win the FKF Premier League title under the guidance of experienced Burundian tactician Etienne Ndayiragije.

The former Taifa Stars coach inked a deal with the struggling side last week in a bid to revive the team's dwindling fortunes in the top tier.

Although his reign began on a sour note after losing his first match 1-0 against 12-time champions AFC Leopards on December 1, the 46-year-old got his tactical set-up spot-on in the 3-1 win over Nairobi City Stars three days later.

The Harambee Stars defender has warned pundits against writing off Police, saying the 46-year-old coach is determined to prove them wrong and write history as the one, who lifted the club from the abyss to the podium.

"There is time to close in and secure our main objective of the season. We would have been worried if we had played more than half a season or if the top team had won at least 18 matches," Sakari told SportsBoom.

"The coach believes that we will deliver if every player remains aggressive and driven by hunger to win titles," added the former Kakamega Homeboyz defender. Slow take-offs and unnecessary changes in the technical bench have, in the past, been blamed for the club's inability to lay hands on the league title despite boasting a quality squad.

Sakari said the former KMC coach had demonstrated ability to compete for titles in his previous workstations and his methods have already been embraced by Police players.

"I believe we will win the league title under the new head coach. Everyone at Police likes his philosophy and how professional he has been in his duties. He is soft-spoken and wants every player to give their best in training and match days. He believes that we are good enough to catch up with the rest and win the league title," Sakari opined.

Police take on Mara Sugar on December 7 and hope to pick up from where they left by sailing to their second win under their Burundian meticulous coach. Police have managed 11 points from nine matches to sit 13th on the log, 11 points adrift of leaders KCB although they have played two matches less.
