Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino asks fans to keep supporting the players despite their struggles so far this season.
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking about his struggling players as the pressure continues to mount on him due to a recent run of poor results.
The Blues suffered an embarrassing 4-2 loss at home to Wolves last Sunday, shortly after a midweek 4-1 thrashing away at Liverpool which has seriously put Pochettino's job in jeopardy.
The Argentine manager has now come out to plead for the support of Chelsea fans ahead of Wednesday's FA Cup replay fixture away at high-flying Aston Villa.
Pochettino begs for Chelsea fans' support
"We are demanding the support to the players. The players have quality. It takes time to build a team. That is the reality. We need the fans to be patient.," Pochettino said.
"Look, we were talking about that. We need to create a good connection with the fans. Yes, I think it's also about the responsibility with the players and the staff to find something."
"That is a thing we were speaking about in the next few weeks. The fans need from us to see that we really care about the club. I promise to every single fan that the players want to perform."
"The players suffer a lot when they are not performing, they are suffering. They are desperate to feel the love from the fans, but at the same time they understand the situation."
