The Blues’ struggles continued over the weekend, raising concerns about their overreliance on their star man.

Following a disappointing 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, Chelsea’s winless run in the Premier League extended to four games.

Despite dominating much of the first half, the Blues failed to capitalise on their chances, allowing the hosts to snatch a late equaliser and share the spoils.

Former Premier League striker Clinton Morrison voiced his concerns about Chelsea’s struggles in front of goal, citing their overdependence on Cole Palmer.

Speaking on the BBC Radio 5 Live Football Daily podcast, Morrison said:

"There are a few alarm bells ringing because they had 15 attempts against Palace and only one on target. That is a big problem and not just for thecentre-forward, but for the whole team. They are too reliant on Cole Palmer."

The Blues have seen flashes of brilliance from Palmer to help them find the net this season, but their inability to kill off games has been a recurring theme, raising questions about their attacking depth.

“It’s going to be an interesting end to the season”

Morrison also highlighted Chelsea’s precarious position in the league, questioning their top-four ambitions. While acknowledging their strong start, he admitted concerns about their current trajectory.

"Enzo Maresca was right, and they were probably never in the title race, but we had to talk about them because they were high in the league. It is now a worry if they can still finish in the top four. I believe they can, and it is just a blip they are going through, but it is going to be an interesting end to the season."

Chelsea fans will hope the team finds their form soon as the race for a top-four spot heats up.
